Service Pack Installation Steps

Important:

  1. We strongly recommend you take backups before applying the service pack. This helps prevent accidental loss of data.

Instructions to apply Service Pack

  1. Shut down M365 Security Plus:
    • If the product is running as an application, click Start > All Programs > M365 Security Plus > Stop M365 Security Plus.
    • If the product is running as a Windows service, click Start > Run. Type services.msc and stop ManageEngine M365 Security Plus.
  2. Execute the stopDB.bat file stored in the <M365 Security Plus>\bin directory.
  3. Back up M365 Security Plus by zipping the contents of the <M365 Security Plus> directory.
  4. If you're using Microsoft SQL Server, take a backup of the database.
  5. Open Command Prompt as an administrator and execute the UpdateManager.bat file stored in the <M365 Security Plus>\bin directory.
  6. Click Browse and select the service pack (.ppm) file that you downloaded.
  7. Click Install. Depending on the amount of data to be migrated, the installation procedure might take a few minutes. Please do not terminate the process prematurely. The certificate required to verify the service pack's integrity will be automatically imported by the product.

    If the automatic certificate import process fails, please import the certificate manually. Otherwise, click Close and then Exit to quit the Update Manager tool.

  8. Start M365 Security Plus:
    • If the product runs as an application, click Start > All Programs > M365 Security Plus > Start M365 Security Plus.
    • If the product runs as a Windows service, click Start > Run. Type services.msc and start ManageEngine M365 Security Plus.

If the automatic certificate import process fails, please import the certificate manually. Otherwise, click Close and then Exit to quit the Update Manager tool.

Steps to import the security certificate

  1. Click on the link based on your current build number from the table below to initiate the download process of the appropriate security certificate.

  2. Open Command Prompt as an administrator and execute the UpdateManager.bat file in the <M365 Security Plus>\bin directory.
  3. Open the certificate import tool by clicking Import Certificate button located in the top-right corner.
  4. Select the certificate by clicking the Browse button.
  5. Next, select Import to pull in the certificate and proceed with step 6 from the Instructions to apply Service Pack section.
  6. Note:
    • If you need to apply more than one service pack, follow the same instructions for each installation.
