ManageEngine Malware Protection Plus Service Packs

Instructions to Apply Service Packs/Hot Fixes

1. Shut down Malware Protection Plus: right click the Malware Protection Plus logo on the Notification area of the Task bar and click on Stop service.
2. Important:
   • Take a backup of the Malware Protection Plus installation directory (\UEMS_CentralServer\bin) to avoid any data loss during the upgrade process.
   • Ensure that either your Malware Protection Plus installation directory or the MalwareProtectionPlus Directory folder in the system on which the Malware Protection Plus database is running is not scanned by the anti virus.
   • If the Malware Protection Plus Service is being monitored by a 3rd party tool or a script that will restart the service, ensure that you disable it until you complete the upgrade process.
   • If you have to install a couple of service packs and hotfixes to reach the latest version, it is recommended to exit the Update Manager tool for every PPM installation.
3. Execute the UpdateManager.bat file present in the \MalwareProtectionPlus\bin directory.
4. Click Browse and select the .ppm file that you have downloaded.
5. Click Install to install the service pack. This may take few minutes depending on the amount of data that needs to be migrated.
6. Wait until the service pack / hotfix is fully installed.
7. Click Close and then click Exit to exit the Update Manager tool.
8. Start Malware Protection Plus.
